1. skating
You can test him how it compares to you and to people. That if you fall then he help to you or he deride.
You can now he is helpful or scornful. Plus this "sport" is good for your health.It's great relaxation. If you want bring hot chocolate and make some cookie :)!

2.Go for a walk outside
It's great for long romantic  walk with your partner.Yo can talk a lot with him. Some people feel free in the nature. Go to the nearly lake or park.If you are cold just come closer to him and you can wear something fashionable grab.

3. Little Café/ Confenctionery

It's a great place where you can be romantic.You can measure his character with cookies and coffee. For example he drink strong coffee then he is manly and charismatic. If he order cappuccino he is romantic.If he drink alcoholic coffee, he is adventurous and open to the world. Your partner ordes some cookies then he is not romantic. (I think :D ) if order cupcake/cake then he is romantic, familiar and enjoying the small pleasures of life. This is the best time to ask him about his work, problems and himself.

  4.Cinema
If you are found the perfect movie after go to the cinema. Buy popcorn and cola then watch the film. Between the scenes you can follow your partner reaction for romantic,creapy or funny part.
If you look at horror movie and you scare then in the dark you can hold his hand. That so romantic :) After tge film you can talk a lot about that.
